About Me
Brown Dixon
Hello my name is Brown Dixon, I’m an artist and the founder of Patches for Communities.
I began this non-profit because I truly believe teaching our students business through the arts and fundraising may serve as a solution to keeping our students away from drugs and prison. As an artist I’ve worked with big brands like JD Sports Time Square and Clarks Originals, customizing their products and creating custom sneakers and boots for display and social media giveaways. I’ve also ran my own thrift business and serve as a wellness coach to recovering addicts in the city. I want to use my skillset to engage students in a productive way outside of the classroom. I believe with the right resources our students will flourish beyond our imagination.
Programs We Offer
We offer an after-school enrichment program where students are given the tools to dive into the world of creativity and business. Students will learn about the creative process, develop various art projects and learn how to customize and create their own apparel. Students will also establish micro-businesses tailored to fundraise for causes that matter to them and their families.
Students will be able to nurture and grow their businesses and also receive financial support in the form of micro-funding opportunities.
Students will also learn the best approaches to supporting their communities while developing valuable skills.

Our mission is to equip young minds with the tools they need to explore their creative potential, design unique apparel, and understand the fundamentals of building their own micro-businesses.
